Living necessities are just as accessible in Belize as they are in America, but some things, such as gasoline, are a lot more expensive.  This because Belize has to pay more to get gas to their country than we do.  They don't have as good as a trading system as America.

 

Some things, such as food, are around the same price as they are here.  Produce in Belize, however, is a lot cheaper there than in America because they can grow all of those exotic fruits down there.

 

Housing in Belize is expensive for the quality of the place you will get to rent/buy.  In America, we have a higher expectation of living, but in Belize, it is mostly all run down living without paying a fortune for housing.

 

Buying a car is the same as housing.  You can't really find a decent vehicle in Belize without expecting a gigantic price tag with it.
